Overview

The Caribbean Honour Awards, presented at the Spirit of the Caribbean Ball, celebrate meaningful achievement, contribution and leadership across Caribbean communities in Britain, the region and the wider diaspora.

Recognition raises visibility, creates role models and inspires future generations. The Ball provides the shared experience through which that recognition is honoured, remembered and passed between generations.

Shortlisted nominees attend as guests. Recognition should never depend on an individual’s ability to purchase a ticket to the occasion on which their contribution is being honoured.

Our Evolution

From the Black Honour Awards to the Caribbean Honour Awards

The recognition programme began in 2022 with the Black Honour Awards, presented at the inaugural Spirit of the Caribbean Ball at ILEC Conference Centre London, welcoming approximately 250 guests.

In 2024, the programme continued with an intimate event at Royal Lancaster London, centred more closely on finalists, their supporters and the judging panel.

From 2027, the programme evolves into the Caribbean Honour Awards, presented at the Spirit of the Caribbean Ball.

Our adjudication process is built on absolute transparency and complete institutional independence. Every entry undergoes a rigorous multi-stage evaluation by a panel of vetted regional leaders and domain experts.

To ensure fairness, judges are subject to strict conflict-of-interest disclosures. No external influence or commercial sponsorship can compromise the integrity of the Caribbean Unity honors.
